Sundays were supposed to be good and peaceful days that Paul could use to sleep in and just relax. Sadly, the day wasn't at such a great start. He woke up at 9 AM, three hours too early and found that his house was completely empty. His parents had been promising to stay home that weekend in order to go out and maybe have a family dinner for once in awhile. But when Paul walked down the steps, he found a small note from his mother. It told him that they were sorry, but work trips popped up and they had to take off for the week. Of course. Paul could feel his hands shaking, but instead of pushing back the anger, he embraced. He managed to force himself outside before trembling and feeling fur pop out of his body and his spine twist into the for of a wolf. He was standing on all fours before a full three seconds passed. It quiet inside his head, so that meant none of the others were out in their wolf bodies yet. That actually made it better for Paul, he just wanted to take off and not be told to calm down by Sam, or be taunted by Jacob. Paul sprinted into the forest.
It wasn't like Paul wasn't used to being blown off by his parents, but he still hated it and especially hated how it made him feel like a helpless child. Paul wasn't a child, he was seventeen and shouldn't worry about such stupid shit like being neglected or whatever. He had greater concerns, like keeping those bloodsuckers at bay. Still, that wasn't all that was on his mind at the moment. Paul was itching for something to take his mind off of the aggravation. There were no bloodsuckers around to take down, and the pack still wasn't out yet. When Paul reached the cliffs, he shifted back into a human and pulled on a pair of black shorts. He felt the adrenaline still in his veins, and was almost tempted to shift again, but he somehow restrained. Cliff diving could be fun, but he wasn't sure the rush was enough. Paul felt an inhuman growl creeping into his throat as he glared at his surroundings. He spotted a large rock and picked it up easily. The weight in his arms didn't bother him as he spun it around to heave it into the lake. He watched it fall down and heard the satisfying splash. But it wasn't enough. Paul was still fired up and didn't know how to calm the inner animal.

Jacob Ephraim Black was sitting on the beach, as a human being of course, just letting himself go in his thoughts. He didn't feel like going wolf right now; he didn't want to deal with the other people in the pack bugging him. He was trying to come to terms with himself because he needed to just let himself think. Why was he bothering to bring up feelings about Leah now? What was the point? Was he using her as a rebound? No. He wasn't trying to anyways. He just wanted to be free from the pain. He knew Bells was going to go vampire on him but he didn't know how he was going to kill Edward for doing it. Why did Bells have to love a bloodsucker? Jacob still held on to the thought that Edward was just using her for his own purposes. Jake had strong beliefs that vampires couldn't love anything but other vampires. He knew Bella thought differently but she'd never dealt with the vampires Jacob had. He'd seen their anger, even the Cullens, and he'd seen them get pretty protective about nothing in particular. He saw evidence everywhere he looked that Edward was just using her. Why, for example, was he so insistent that the werewolves were super dangerous? Sure, they had temper issues but at least they weren't craving human blood twenty four seven. Jake just didn't understand how Bells could hang out with a monster that wanted her blood all the time, and not be creeped out, even just a little bit.
Jacob Black had seen Edward at his worst and Bells hadn't, that Jake understood but she wasn't listening to reason. The Cullens were monsters with the exception of Carlisle. He sighed and let the realization settle in his head again that Isabella Swan would never listen to Jacob Black when he said they were monsters and went against nature. Vampires were evil but Bella wouldn't believe it even though she'd seen the red-head and had seen what a newborn had done to Jacob. Still, she refused to believe it. At least Leah understood that vampires were the bane of the earth and needed to all just die. At least the rest of the pack was on Jacob's side when he said the vampires needed to be destroyed...Except for Seth. That was one thing Seth and Jake did not agree on but they were still buddies. Jacob liked Seth for the reason that he was so damn happy all the time. He also liked to play video games with the kid when he had time off from patrolling. He hated having time off but here he was waiting for nightfall 'cause he had patrol. He didn't know who his partner was but with his luck it was Paul. Jake got up off the sand and walked up to the cliffs and just his luck, Paul was there. Jake felt no reason to taunt him, mostly because Jake didn't feel like arguing with the guy today. Believe it or not, Jacob did like Paul sometimes. Jake spoke, "Hey Paul. How's it goin'?"
