Crying could be heard throughout the deliver room as an 8lb 5 oz little baby girl was brought over to her proud parents; Elizabeth and James Fay. Proudly they both looked down at their little girl, who could barely open her eyes, both whispering, "Welcome to the world, Helena Fay." Finally opening her eyes; the baby girl cooed, looking up at her parents. Nothing could have ruined that day.
Two days later Elizabeth and James were allowed to take their precious first and only child home, beginning the journey of raising Helena. Sleepless nights were common. Crying. Screaming. Diapers. Even if they were both exhausted; they put up with all of it with pride. Who could complain when those precious ice blue eyes stared up at them with a giggle? That made it all worth while.
Days went by. Then weeks; months; and eventually years. Helena was just a normal little kid, learning something new every day. Always going to school. Getting good grades. Making new friends. Normal stuff a child her age would do. She had always been fascinated with nature, though. She would always sneak out of the house and go play outside. Exploring every single spot in the yard; the bugs, trees, flowers, everything you could imagine. Let's just say Helena wasn't exactly a girly girl, to say the least. Helena would always return with scraps and bruises all over her tiny little body. She wasn't exactly coordinated, either.
At the age of fourteen Helena had moved to Forks, Washington. Her parents had received an offer to move to an new office for their jobs, having the chance to have more income for the family of three. Everyone was excited but her. Where were they moving to again? A small little town in Washington. Leaving behind all her friends, too. This wasn't something Helena was looking forward to. At all. Once they got there; things seemed to be good. Helena was enrolled in school, and things seemed to be going normal until she came home one day to find out some bad news.
Her mom, she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. Things had started to go downhill real fast from that point on. She was always in the hospital, the place Helena hated the most. Always afraid of going in there, but she did to see her mom during treatment. July 9th, 2009. That was the day her mom had lost the battle, passing away. Her dad? Well, he didn't exactly take the news well. Only a few days after her passing, he had committed suicide in his bedroom; leaving Helena all alone to be sent to an orphanage.
Frustrated with being there; Helena had ran off during the day. Who would miss her? Surely the social workers at the orphanage wouldn't. They were to busy talking on the phone and filling out papers to actually look after the kids, always screaming and arguing with each other over the stupidest things. It got to be to much for her. Once free; her ice blue eyes spotted the forest up ahead. Sigh. The only place she loved to be, nature. Though this time; this trip into the forest was going to be anything but normal.
Screaming could be heard coming from the tiny five-foot two girl as the bear knocked her to the ground; starting to bite at her face and body. Blood was everywhere. Clothes were being torn off of her body, being ripped to shreds by the bears teeth. It seemed like this was the end. Until suddenly a miracle happened. Somehow, the bear was killed. But how? Body shaking; eyes shut tightly, Helena was lifted up into someones arms. She had lost consciousness before she could even see who the person was.

» RP SAMPLE:Setting in one of the many beds in one over crowded rooms in the place she hated with passion, the orphanage, Helena had her face in her hands. Crying and screaming could be heard throughout the place, ringing immensely through her ears. Could they get any louder? Or better yet; why weren't one of the social workers looking after them? Huff. They were to busy talking on the phone as usual. How lovely of them to be completely oblivious to the fight going on between to the two girls.
"No, give it back, it's mine!" cried the voice of an innocent little girl, upset over someone taking her doll away.
"NO! My doll!" The other somewhat older girl called out, holding the ragged old doll over her head so the younger girl could no longer reach it.
Helena shook her head, standing up from the bed. Without hesitation Helena took the doll out of the oldest girls hands, handing it back over to the younger blond girl with a sigh. "You two. Share. Got it?" Helena questioned, her hands being placed on her hips as she tapped her foot on the ground. Silence filled the room. The two girls just nodded, running away from the tiny five-foot two girl. Heh. Even though she was short, Helena was still much bigger then them. Go figure.
Her mind immediately went back to her thoughts, eyes glancing out the window every now and then. All the green tree's swaying in the wind was tempting her so. Whimper. They wouldn't notice she was gone, would they? Helena glanced over to the desk the workers were at, busy chattering away on the phone. She had received her answer. No, they wouldn't notice she was gone. Or even care for that matter. Again, Helena stood up quickly as she crawled her way on the floor in front of the wooden desk, having done this many times before. You couldn't expect Helena to stay away from nature, could you?
Only a few moments later Helena had reached freedom. Inhale. Exhale. The fresh air filled her lungs, causing a grin to tug at the side of her lips as she twirled around with a small laugh escaping her lips. A quick walk down the forest wouldn't hurt anyone. Well, that's what Helena thought at least. Soon she was about to find out she was wrong. Very. Very. Wrong. Walking down the path she made for herself, she heard low rumble coming from a few feet away. Immediately she froze in her tracks. What was that? Thump. Thump. Thump. Her heart rate was increasing with each passing moment. Helena didn't have to wait that long to find out what had caused the low rumble.
Before she could even blink the bear had charged toward the five-foot two girl, immediately knocking her down to the forest ground; hitting her head on a tree branch that had fallen in the process. Shit. She was no match for the bear; who had no had her pinned down to the ground as his sharp nails ripped through her flesh. "N..NO!" Helena yelled out, desperately trying to push the bear off. Ha, that didn't help at all. In fact; it had the opposite affect. The bear just got even more made, taking a large chunk out of her leg. Exposing all the blood vessels and arteries in that area.
Tears formed in her eyes, stinging the massive lacerations on her face. A large scratch wound was prominent on her left cheek, causing Helena to scream out in pain as the large paws and teeth ripped through nearly every inch of her body. This was it. Helena had completely given up; knowing that she would never be able to fight off her attacker. The animal had started to drag her along the ground, leaving Helena to just scream in the process. There was absolutely nothing left she could do but just take it.
